Understanding advanced tabs-part 3 slide note

Slide



In a slide you have to play the first note and then slide your finger towards the second note


A slide is represented by the symbols ( s , / , \ ) 


A slide up is represented by the symbol ‘/’. and slide down is represented by the symbol ‘\’

   G----------------------------------------
   D----------------------------------------
   A----------------------------------------
   E----------------------------------------



here you have to play the first note on 5th fret (E note) and  then slide the finger without releasing that note down to 7th fret (F# note).


 Slide down

   B------5\7-------------------------------
   G----------------------------------------
   D----------------------------------------
   A----------------------------------------
   E----------------------------------------


here you have to play the first note on 7th fret (F# note) and  then slide the finger without releasing that note down to 5th fret (E note).


for easy practise the symbol 's' is usually adopted in writing tab music.
